First Anniversary!

The Chan Heart Rhythm Institute in Mesa, is celebrating their one-year anniversary. When asked how he felt the first year was going, Medical Director Dr. Rodrigo Chan humbly stated with a big smile, “I didn’t think we would be this busy!”

Dr. Chan’s talent and his love and caring for his patients are well known within our community. He has a passion for giving his time and talents to teaching other doctors the life saving techniques and skills needed for his specialty in cardiology. When Dr. Chan isn’t busy at the hospital performing surgeries or seeing patients in clinic at his practice, you will find him abroad in Asia sharing his knowledge and skills to help those who may not get the chance to learn otherwise.

Trained at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine where he completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowships, Dr. Chan specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, including heart rhythm assessment and diagnostics, pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation and management, electrical cardioversion and radiofrequency and cryoablation for atrial fibrillation. The author of several notable publications, Dr. Chan has participated in major clinical trials and is known for being the first to implant the smallest cardiac defibrillator. A frequent national lecturer, Dr. Chan has made numerous presentations to the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiologists.

Mesa is fortunate to have access to the first-rate treatment options provided by Dr. Chan and his professional staff at the Chan Heart Rhythm Institute. As Dr. Chan says, “I have been privileged and honored to care for many patients in the past and my commitment is to continue to provide cardiology care with the highest quality in the future.”
